Become a Member of CPCT
Stay connected. Have your say. Help shape your community.
Becoming a member gives you a more direct connection to the Trust and a voice in its future.
Whether you already use our community spaces, attend our activities, live locally, work in the area or simply want to support what we do, membership is an opportunity to become more involved in the organisation behind the community.
Why become a member?
Membership isn't just about receiving updates. Members have a formal role in the Trust and can contribute to its future direction.
As a member, you can:
- Stay connected - Be among the first to hear about events, new activities and opportunities at the Trust.
- Have your say - Share your views on the development of the Trust and be consulted on major changes that may affect our beneficiaries and stakeholders.
- Take part in the Trust's future - Attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and other general meetings, where important matters about the Trust can be discussed and, where appropriate, voted on.
- Support your local community - Play a meaningful role in supporting the people, projects and community spaces served by Crystal Palace Community Trust.
- Contribute ideas - Members can contribute to the development of Trust projects and help shape how we continue to serve our local community.
- Keep up to date - Receive our electronic newsletters with news and updates from across the Trust.
Membership means being part of something local
From Anerley Town Hall and our community café at 123 Anerley to our youth work, social groups and community activities, Crystal Palace Community Trust provides spaces where people can meet, participate and connect.
Our members are an important part of that community.
By becoming a member, you're not simply signing up to receive information. You're joining the organisation and becoming part of its wider community.
Who can become a member?
Membership is open to individuals and organisations with a local interest who share the values and goals of Crystal Palace Community Trust and wish to promote and support the work of the Trust.
You don't need to be involved in a particular programme or activity to become a member. If you have a local connection and want to support the Trust and its work, you can apply for membership.
What does being a member involve?
Crystal Palace Community Trust is a charitable company, and membership carries some formal responsibilities.
Members are the guardians of the Trust's constitution and have an important role in its governance.
As a member, you agree to:
- Attend a minimum of two public meetings each year, including the Annual General Meeting (AGM), where local issues and matters concerning the Trust will be discussed and, where appropriate, proposed actions voted on.
- Accept the legal responsibilities associated with being a member of the company.
- Give written notice if you wish to resign your membership.
Your legal liability
If the company is dissolved while you remain a member, or within 12 months after you cease to be a member, you agree to contribute towards the costs of the company's dissolution and its liabilities.
This liability is currently limited to £1 (one pound). This limit may be changed in the future depending on the financial circumstances of the Trust.
We will communicate with members by email where possible. If an email address is not available, correspondence will be sent to your postal address.
